When we were children, we may have been asked “What do you want to be when you grow up?” You may have said that you wanted to be a professional athlete, a police officer, a soldier, or an influencer. But as you grew older, you began to realize that it wasn’t going to be that easy.
Some of us realize that we’ll need to pick a realistic goal and start working toward it in our adolescence. But many of us don’t figure this out.
A Pew Research Center survey in 2011 found the following:
- Only 11% of workers 18–24 in the U.S. view their job as a “career”
- Only 34% of workers 25–29 in the U.S. view their job as a “career”
- Only 49% of workers 30–34 in the U.S. view their job as a “career”
These results seem to indicate that most adults have not found a truly meaningful occupation.
It is never too late to look for meaning and purpose in life. So, if you feel that you’ve wasted some of your best years, don’t despair. Make a move now. But how?
Life Reset Map Workflow
I am going to give you a text prompt to copy/paste into any AI application. Do it. Answer the questionnaire. I’ve done this myself and it takes about 30-minutes. Get the output. Study it, and think deeply about what you need to change today to start moving in the direction of that vision for your life.
Ask me a structured questionnaire (one question at a time) to help define my ideal life.
Cover these areas:
- Health & energy
- Work & finances
- Daily routine
- Relationships & family
- Personal growth & discipline
- Environment & lifestyle
- Values & purpose
After I answer all questions, generate:
1) A concise 1-page narrative description of my ideal life written in the present tense
2) A short “day in the life” vignette
3) A summary of the top 5 non-negotiable principles that define this life
